Executive profile – 

Mr. Trafford brings 18 years of experience in the real estate industry working with a range of retail properties geographically from Illinois, south to Texas, and west to Hawaii, including regional and super-regional malls, lifestyle centers, mixed-use developments, entertainment centers and power centers. He is an established retail real estate executive actively managing multi-billion shopping center portfolio with extensive market knowledge and progressive approach offers compelling performance record across strategic planning, acquisition, asset management, lease negotiation, lease workouts and project management. Lead engaged teams to continuously optimize asset value and outperform  real estate indices. Anchor business development efforts to grow national and regional platform and revenue. Serve as trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, partners, and investors, and as steward of multibillion-dollar retail real estate portfolios.

Additional experience includes conducting market analyses, researching new venture opportunities, providing private equity advisory services and redeveloping distressed residential assets 

Mr. Trafford received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in finance from The George Washington University.  He also studied International Finance in Budapest, Hungary.  Mr. Trafford is a licensed real estate broker in California. Additionally, Mr. Trafford is a National “E” licensed soccer coach through the United States Soccer Federation. 

What's in a name?

Growing up, my mother's little sister, Carolyn, could not pronounce my mother's name, Marilyn, and called her, Merney. Sadly, my mother unexpectedly passed away when I was 16.  I bought the merney.com domain over 30 years ago so my mother is in my life each and every day.
